Speaker Greg Hughes hosted a conversation on homelessness, substance use, and mental health with leading experts in the field. The event featured Dominion Diagnostics Scientific Advisory Board Member David E. Smith, MD, and Mary P. Hauser, MA, Vice President of Addiction Services and New Market Development for Dominion Diagnostics.

David E. Smith, MD, is a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of addictive diseases, innovative research strategies for managing drug abuse problems, and appropriate prescribing practices for physicians. Dr. Smith founded the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinics in 1967 and has served on federal, state, and local boards addressing substance use, abuse, and treatment, earning numerous awards for his contributions.

Mary P. Hauser, MA, brought over four decades of experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, mental health, and psychology. Her extensive background included directing addiction prevention, intervention, treatment, and research programs, serving as adjunct faculty at multiple universities, and consulting at state, federal, and inpatient/outpatient program levels.
